The
ant feeds voraciously on sweets, grease and other foods. Over twenty
species invade homes. They usually nest in the ground, but create pathways
through foundations, wall openings, and cracks to enter the home. Some
ants have a severe sting.

The bee pollinates fruit
trees, flowers, and plants to make honey to feed the colony. Bees can
create a hive or swarm in a rafter, shed, tree, or bush. Bee stings can
be deadly to infants, the elderly, and persons allergic to bee venom.

The black widow spider
carries poisonous venom that creates fever and illness in adults and
can cause severe injury and even death to infants and small animals.
It hides in dark, dry places.

The brown recluse species
of spider is very poisonous. Their venom can destroy human tissue and
the infection is very difficult to treat. They like to hide in dark dry
places like the black widow spider.

Fleas can transmit several
diseases including bubonic plague and tularemia. They are also the carriers
of a tapeworm which, can be transmitted to dogs and humans. They have
very strong hind legs for jumping onto humans or pets.

The tick may carry Lyme disease, which can
be debilitating to humans and pets. They are very small, less than 1/8".
Found in dry brush areas. They attach themselves to humans or pets and
are difficult to remove and can cause infection.

The cockroach is usually shy, nocturnal
creature. They can contaminate food, destroy fabrics, books and rugs
and aggravate allergies. It's found in pantries, closets, basements,
and any other dark, moist areas where there is food.

Rats and mice are primary carriers
of disease and are not pleasant to see, hear, or smell. They live and
breed in attics, basements, and roofing. They can contaminate food and
even destroy walls or floors.
